Subject: [EPC-ALL] Reminder: Application to be considered for GRA/GTA Positions next academic year

EPC current graduate students with GRA/GTA positions.

To be considered for an EPC sponsored assistantship, you MUST complete the online application: https://epc.utk.edu/epc-graduate-assistantship-application/. The information will help us plan for assistantships and expedite the process. Doctoral students are given first consideration, but all graduate students who plan to have full time student status during the 2018-2019 academic year may apply. Complete by April 15th.

If you are unsure how to complete the application or experience difficulties navigating it, please contact your program coordinator or Synthia Clark [log in to unmask].

As a reminder, please understand that no EPC program can guarantee assistantship placements. Please understand that EPC EXPECTS all EPC students to seek assistantships OUTSIDE the Department while applying for one within EPC too. This double pronged approach to seeking assistantships (i.e., inside and outside the Department) helps all EPC students and increases the likelihood that more EPC students secure an assistantship somewhere on campus.

The Graduate School announces some assistantships (http://gradschool.utk.edu/gradfund.shtml); however, many are identified through networking (e.g., identifying existing assistantship slots that are being vacated, email notifications (which we will forward  if/when we receive them), new grants being funded that include assistantships, etc. The earlier you begin looking, the better your chances are at finding something outside EPC.
