The American Association for Adult and Continuing Education (AAACE) is dedicated to the belief that lifelong learning contributes to human fulfillment and positive social change. To that end, we provide leadership
for the field of adult and continuing education by expanding opportunities for adult growth and development; unifying adult educators; fostering the development and dissemination of theory, research, information, and best practices; promoting identity and
standards for the profession; and advocating relevant public policy and social change initiatives.
Conference Theme
“Adult Education in an Era of Accelerated Technological Innovation”
Adult and continuing education programs/organizations have historically served as sites for incubating innovative approaches to education and learning. Responding to the waves of disruptive technological innovations
such as, omnipresent Internet services, cell phones, and apps (e.g., Facebook, Google, YouTube, Twitter, and others) adult education practitioners are increasingly utilizing these broader innovations to provide specific innovative programs and learning opportunities
to targeted clientele.
The 2018 AAACE conference will allow us the opportunity to celebrate innovations in adult and continuing education as we learn from each other by exploring the broad array of accelerated technological innovative
contributions of our colleagues and witnessing the funding sources and financing patterns that support innovations in the field.
Conference Presenters
AAACE conference presenters are practitioners, faculty, graduate students, trainers, instructional designers, and program administrators who represent the diverse areas encompassed under the Adult and Continuing
Education umbrella. Previous workshop and poster topics have included innovative teaching practices, case studies from international learning projects, and examinations of adult learning theory, to name only a few. The common factor linking all accepted proposals
is relevance to and advancement of adult teaching and learning. More information on the areas in Adult and Continuing Education can be found by
clicking here.
