Granite Mountain Computer Services is seeking a Lead Quality Assurance Tester and Functional Editor. This is an independent contractor 1099 position – there is no tax withholding and no health benefits. This is a remote/telework position with no travel required. Candidate must supply their own testing hardware and software (Windows PC or other devices as needed). 

The selected candidate will work with our team members to ensure new tasks are distributed and completed in a timely manner. This candidate will occupy a lead position, which often involves original QA testing on their part as well as management of overall task load and distribution among other team members. The types of task assignments vary according to client requirements, which always includes stringent adherence to deadlines.

Our primary clients are higher education textbook publishers. This position entails review of electronic textbooks and peripheral materials (quizzes, videos, etc.) to ensure transfer to electronic format was successfully completed with no introduced functional or display errors. Processes for specialized and integrative testing stages are proprietary and nonpublic. Any materials reviewed prior to public release are confidential.

Skills:

• Excellent electronic/online communication skills

• Ability to adapt to fast changing work priorities

• Ability to work through repetitive and time-consuming material reviews

• Experience working with tight deadlines 

• Experience with learning objects (quizzes, videos, electronic texts) recommended

• Experience with CMS learning systems recommended

• Remote management experience preferred

• Bachelors degree required

As a remote independent contractor, you will work from home and set your own schedule. Work level fluctuates seasonally, however a minimum average of 30 hours of availability per week is needed (excluding holidays or scheduled out of office time). 

Pay starts at $20/hour with possible incremental raises based on work quality. Work is not guaranteed and is dependent on the quality of work and amount of available work.
