Good evening. Please distribute this email broadly internally and
externally.

We are looking for an exceptional individual for an exceptional job.
Below are the links to our Pennsylvania ES Field Office (PAFO) Supervisor
position advertisement. It is a GS-13/14, open to all sources and closes
1/24/18. We are offering relocation benefits.

The PAFO is located in State College and has about 16 employees. The office
is responsible for a variety of Ecological Services program activities that
include endangered species, habitat conservation and restoration,
Conservation Planning Assistance, NRDAR, HCPs and Partners for Fish and
Wildlife.

This position provides leadership and management oversight to the office’s
budget, personnel, strategic planning, general administration, and
integrity of all PAFO activities. The Project Leader is the lead
representative for Ecological Services matters in Pennsylvania and works to
develop and maintain strong partnerships with a variety of diverse interest
groups to further the Service’s conservation mission.

State College is great place to live; it is a college town in the center of
Pennsylvania and benefits economically and demographically by the presence
of Pennsylvania State University. The area has been nicknamed “Happy
Valley” and was ranked the 3rd safest metropolitan area in the US by CQ
Press in 2013. The area is surrounded by thousands of acres of State-owned
land, with endless opportunities for hiking, biking, hunting, camping,
boating, angling, and skiing. For example, you can go backpacking on the
Mid-State trail, ride your mountain bike or trail run in the Rothrock State
Forest, hunt grouse in the Scotia game lands, or test your flies on Spruce
or Spring Creek--all of these opportunities are at your doorstep in State
College.

The State College Area School District is rated one of the best in the
State, with a newly constructed high school opening in 2018. There are
good career opportunities for a spouse/partner, especially in technology,
medical, and education fields. Penn State University also brings live
music, performing arts, NCAA Division 1 Football and other entertainment
that you wouldn't expect in a small town.

State College has a small, but super convenient airport, with direct
flights to Chicago, Detroit, Dulles, and Philadelphia. The town has the
rural character and relaxed lifestyle you would expect to find in central
Pennsylvania, but is an easy drive to New York City, the DC area,
Philadelphia, or Pittsburgh, for when you want a weekend getaway in the
city.

Thanks, Paul
