Dear Undergrad students,

Please consider enrolling for this course on South Asia that is being offered after a gap of 5 semesters.  This course fulfills upper division GE requirement as well as serves as an option for Asian Studies and Global Studies program.  In this course, I will discuss the economy, society, geopolitics and Hollywood's influence on the culture and society of South Asia, along with transnational migration, South Asian diaspora (globally), and the connections between the two regions, border disputes, and the like.  I will use a mix of conventional classroom lectures as well as documentaries, movie critiques, article/movie reviews, map quizzes and short essays as methods of assessing your learning.  The flyer for this course is attached.

Best wishes,

Madhuri
