Good afternoon, GBP members, I hope you're all doing well and are having a lovely start to Fall Break! I'm emailing with some reminders from the last meeting as well as an update concerning the t-shirt contest. We will be taking late submissions for the t-shirt contest until *Sunday, October 7*. Voting on t-shirt designs will happen on October 9 through VolLink. If you want to submit a t-shirt design please be sure to have the Gamma Beta Phi crest on it somewhere, and you can email submissions to me at [log in to unmask] The fall induction ceremony is on November 11 and we will need volunteers to help set up! You can get 1 service point per hour, and since the event is catered, you will get free food. The National Service Project encourages all members to facilitate small projects in their local community that focus on any of these five sectors: - Environment - Caring for the Disadvantaged - Serving the Servers - Mental Health Awareness - Furry Friends For the National Project Competition we will need to chose one of these five sectors to focus on. Winners will be chosen based on volunteer hours, impact made, and quality of newsletter, powerpoint, or video. The competition ends on May 31st, 2019. Some reminders: - Chapter dues are $15. If you haven't paid them you can email our treasurer, Karsten Parker at [log in to unmask] - You need to earn 9 points each semester. Two of those points MUST be from attending two general body meetings. One of those points MUST be from joining a committee. - Joining a committee is MANDATORY. We have four committees: Food and Social, Fundraising, Projects, and Professional Development. Service hours from outside events count as half a point per hour. Please use VolLink to log service hours, it should be under the tab "Forms" The next meeting is on *October 19 at 5:30 in HSS 207*. If you live outside of Knoxville you can attend the meeting via Facebook Live. We stream all of our meetings from the Gamma Beta Phi Facebook page.
