LAC Federal is seeking a qualified
Data Curator to work for a major Federal Agency which is located in Denver, CO; however, this position can be worked remotely from anywhere in the US. The Data Curator will be involved in the vision of the agency to develop a single, consistent, and
representative LCI data framework for the United States. This is a 9 months contract position with possibility for extension. Hours are flexible as either a part-time or full-time work schedule can be arranged.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical support to ensure that the USLCI database is aligned with the rest of the LCA Commons.
- Provide documentation detailing the requirements for the LCA Commons and how the USLCI database will be managed to meet those requirements and the necessary tools for that
management.
- Organize a system for the in-house management of the USLCI database that is in alignment with the LCA Commons.
- Develop a data development and submittal guidance document.
- Provide data review for life cycle inventory datasets submitted to the USLCI database.
- Develop a summary report on the status of the LCA Commons as well as the challenges and benefits to federal agencies and the general public
- Work collaboratively with remote teams to coordinate workflow efforts
- Ingest and harmonize LCA data
REQUIREMENTS
- Data science / data management experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (Information, Computer Science, Biology)
- Experience working with life cycle inventory data and formats
- Strong organization skills and ability to independently manage concurrent, ongoing tasks
- Basic understanding of python programing language
- Be available to attend and present work at the annual American Center for Life Cycle Assessment (ACLCA) conference
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience with openLCA software preferred
