Position Summary:
The Head of Instructional Content & Design reports to the Director of Teaching & Learning Engagement. The successful candidate will lead team efforts to coordinate the ePortfolio program and the design of library content and modules related to digital literacy and other library initiatives. In addition, this person will supervise library faculty, staff and wage personnel and will manage a studio that will support instructional content and design initiatives. This position emphasizes partnering and consulting services, which includes shaping learning experiences, supporting active learning pedagogies, and developing library educational content for course integration. In addition, this position will oversee the Libraries’ usability testing program.Required Qualifications:
- Masters degree
-Demonstrated work experience in Academic Libraries
- Experience contributing to a team launching university-wide programs from initial conception through implementation
- Experience leading team-based projects and supervising student workers and other wage employees
- Experience designing and maintaining a usability testing program and
implementing results into ongoing programs and initiatives as well as
using results to inform decisions being made regarding library software
purchases and integrations
- Experience with facilitating faculty development and undergraduate and
graduate student workshops, particularly as it relates to software
training
- Proficiency in creating instructional videos or other support documentation
- Excellent communication and partnership skills with the ability to engage in cross-functional collaboration
- Ability to organize and prioritize work processes, working effectively
within a team as well as being able to work independently with minimal
supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience with project management of large, multi-year projects that include a technology component
- Proficiency in at least one production tool such as Adobe Creative
Suite, Camtasia, or Articulate Storyline for creating learning objects
in support of the e-Portfolio program
