Dear faculty, graduate students, and undergrads, A potential geography major, a transfer student from the University of Wyoming who is presently in their Geography and Natural Resources major, will be visiting campus in the late afternoon on Friday, December 22. The student has family in Knoxville, and his visit to campus is timed to hit the Arts and Sciences Advising Center in the last hours they are open before the break, the soonest he can get into town from Wyoming. The idea is that he may transfer from Wyoming to Tennessee to be closer to family. I helped him secure the advising appointment after he was put in touch with me by JJ Shinker at the Unversity of Wyoming, who is one of his instructors. The visiting student's appointment is at 3:30 and if you will be around later than that, and would be available to say hello to a potential major, would you please let me know? I expect this to be a very quiet day on the UT campus. Philip, he is liable to have some questions about the Geography major that you or another advisor could best answer. But, I will do my best and perhaps he can be in touch by email later, if no departmental advisor is available. The student is presently attending college on the GI bill, but his name is not Matt.
