UAB Libraries at the University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking a faculty member to fill a unique position in the health sciences library branch located at UAB Hospital. This individual will be a member of a team that works in the clinical space with a variety of clienteles, including nurses, faculty clinicians, and medical residents. The incumbent will work closely with the Center for Nursing Excellence to support education, research, and patient care at all levels and through a variety of embedded activities, and must be comfortable working in a busy clinical environment. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the profession and to build a record of progressive scholarly and professional achievement. UAB Hospital is Alabama’s major tertiary care center, with the only comprehensive cancer center in a five-state region. It is routinely ranked in US News and World Report’s Best Hospitals and Becker’s 100 Great Hospitals in America. UAB Hospital has over 1000 medical residents, and approximately 1200 beds at two campuses. It is the only Magnet designated hospital in the state of Alabama, and one of few hospitals in the country with four consecutive accreditations.
