My apologies if you receive this 2x.  Please see below a link to an announcement for a part time position creating modules for the Adv Tennessee Master Nursery Producer Program.  We’ve conducted this curriculum development position as a post doc and as an hourly worker so there is a fair amount of flexibility.  This is a great, short-term position for an early retiree or someone who would like extension or distance teaching experience on their CV!  Please feel free to share with anyone who may be interested!

Program Assistant III

Department of Plant Sciences

Pay Grade 36

Part-time position with no benefits for one year.

 

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

 

The Extension Assistant will work with the Tennessee Master Nursery Producer (TMNP) Program Coordinator and team of extension specialists to develop the Advance Tennessee Master Nursery Producer Program.  

 

 

Duties in developing this online program include:

 

&#8226           Conduct literature searches, maintain an image library, organize content into presentations, write scripts and prepare quizzes and pre- and posttests. Narration of scripts may also be required.

&#8226           Take the lead role in developing the individual program modules, aid in program promotion through traditional and social media outlets, and communicate program updates to nursery producers.

&#8226           Provide leadership for a program of activities that meets the needs of all eligible clientele regardless of race, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, religion or veteran status.

 

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum/Required Qualifications (include education, experience, skills & abilities, licenses & certifications):

 

&#8226           B.S. in plant sciences, horticulture, ag education, entomology, plant pathology or related field required.

&#8226           Must have transportation to the Knoxville Campus.

&#8226           Must have the ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and collaborate with a diverse team. Must be well-organized, have the ability to plan ahead, and be able to manage and prioritize tasks for multiple program modules.

&#8226           Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally in English, orally and in writing.

&#8226           Experience with presentation preparation and related software and nursery crops production required, training in curriculum development desired.
