Hi everyone,

The email below is from Dr. Joyner at ETSU. He is coaching the Tennessee team for the Geography Bowl at SEDAAG and needs some UT-Knoxville members. If you are going to SEDAAG please consider participating. Also, you may win money toward AAG travel!

Best,

Kelsey

Hello All,

I am leading the Tennessee Geography Bowl team again this year, which will compete at the Southeast Division of the Association of American Geographers conference in Starkville, MS the weekend before Thanksgiving.  Find out more about the conference here: http://sedaag.org/annual-meeting/

SEDAAG represents a great opportunity for students in the region to explore a multitude of topics in geography/geosciences and the Geography Bowl is especially fun.  The bowl runs from about 11:00AM – 4:00PM on Sunday November 19th.  Registration will begin at 10am.  Assuming that we end up with 10 teams (1 from each state), we will be running 5 simultaneous rounds in 5 rooms.  On Monday night there will be an All-Star vs. Dream Team competition followed by the Finals.  Each team needs 6 players (with room for many alternates beyond that number).  Last year, our Tennessee team included players from UT-Knoxville and ETSU and we placed third.  We would love to have students from even more locations on the team - both undergraduate and graduate students are welcome!

Let me know if you have any questions and feel free to give students my contact information ([log in to unmask]) if they are interested.

Thanks!

Andrew
