Greetings,

Dr. Terrill Saxon, Interim Dean of Baylor University School of Education (SOE), and I are seeking an outstanding leader for the position of Assistant or Associate Librarian and Director of the SOE Learning Resources Center.

Baylor University is a private Christian university and a nationally-ranked research institution, consistently listed with highest honors among The Chronicle of Higher Education's "Great Colleges to Work For." The university is recruiting new faculty with a deep commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and scholarship. Baylor seeks faculty who share in our aspiration to become a tier one research institution while strengthening our distinctive Christian mission as described in our strategic vision, Pro Futuris (http://www.baylor.edu/profuturis/). As the world’s largest Baptist University, Baylor offers over 40 doctoral programs and has almost 17,000 students from all 50 states and more than 80 countries.

Baylor’s School of Education, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2019, ranks among the nation’s best. The school boasts an array of excellent academic offerings in three academic departments. Baylor's undergraduate program in teacher education is nationally distinguished for its innovative partnerships with local schools, while its graduate programs train students to be leaders in multiple aspects of education. The Learning Resources Center plays an essential role in all the SOE's programs by providing facilities, resources, technology, and services that advance excellence in teaching and inquiry. The SOE is seeking a Librarian/Director who can provide leadership for the Learning Resources Center.

We recognize the quality of your program based on your 2017 ranking as one of the top schools for a master’s degree in library and information studies. Thus, we are reaching out to you to make the position known to qualified potential candidates and/or to nominate individuals whom you would strongly recommend for the position.

Applications and nominations will be accepted for this position until it is filled, but an early response from you would be appreciated. We anticipate filling the position by January 2018, so we would prefer a recent graduate or a December 2017 graduate, yet we are open to quality applicants who are scheduled in graduate in May 2018. Information and application procedures may be found at https://apply.interfolio.com/44439. Nominations may be sent, via email, to Dr. Suzanne Nesmith ([log in to unmask])<mailto:[log in to unmask])>.

Thank you in advance for your assistance,

Suzanne
