FHWA’s Freight Program Office, in partnership with the European Commission’s Directorate General of Mobility and Transport, is pleased to announce the second in its series of urban freight webinars:

UNITED STATES AND EUROPEAN EXAMPLES OF URBAN FREIGHT FLEET ELECTRIFICATION

Wednesday, November 1, 2017 | 11:00AM to 12:30PM EDT, UTC -4

DESCRIPTION

This webinar will focus on the deployment of electric freight vehicles in both the U.S. and Europe, sharing examples of how the public and private sectors have collaborated to improve metropolitan freight operations while reducing emissions.

United States Example:

Mr. Eulois Cleckley of the Houston-Galveston Area Council—the Houston, Texas metropolitan planning organization (MPO)—will describe the organization’s recent partnership with the Department of Energy and United Parcel Service (UPS) to pilot 18 electric delivery trucks. UPS’s description of the pilot program can be found here.

European Example:

Mr. Jos Streng and Mr. Richard van der Wulp of the City of Rotterdam will discuss their own electric freight vehicle pilot, which was part of the Freight Electric Vehicles in Urban Europe (FREVUE) project, a European-wide program which deployed more than 80 electric freight vehicles in 8 cities. The speakers will provide information about their city’s partnership with private firms such as Heineken, TNT, and UPS to pilot these vehicles. More information about Rotterdam’s FREVUE pilot program can be found here.

Registration is free and open to all United States and international parties. Please visit the webinar Eventbrite page for more information and to register. Registration closes Monday, October 30, 2017.

We look forward to you joining us!
