Develop your career with NASA’s Applied Sciences’ Capacity Building DEVELOP National Program
NASA DEVELOP creates intern teams that work on relevant environmental issues around the world utilizing NASA and NOAA satellite data. There are three 10-week term periods that occur in the summer, spring, and fall. Participants will work closely with experienced science advisors to create impactful results and products for end-users such as water resource managers in the Pacific Islands, NOAA's Regional Climate Services Directors, Native American tribes in South Dakota...etc.

How to Apply
Anyone 18 and over, who is interested in pursuing experience in the Earth sciences and remote sensing, is welcome to apply. This includes currently enrolled students, recent college graduates, early and transitioning career professionals, and current and former U.S. Military service members. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale at their current or last institution of higher learning and the ability to transport themselves to and from the DEVELOP location. Asheville, NC Program Location

The program location in downtown Asheville, NC is housed within NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI). DEVELOP project teams working at NCEI get the unique opportunity of having both NASA and NOAA scientists as professional mentors. NCEI participants also benefit from working directly with the world’s largest climate and weather data archive and some of NOAA’s leading climate scientists in the heart of Asheville – aka “Climate City.”
