Jackson is on Interstate 40, 85 miles east of Memphis and 129 miles west of Nashville.
The city has many amenities including a Symphony Orchestra, a minor league baseball affiliate (AA) of the Arizona Diamondbacks, several museums, a thriving Farmer’s Market, a Nature Park, and 2 private and 1 public 4 year colleges and universities.
Jackson State Community College is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The college has many different degree and certificate programs.
The Library is part of the Academic Support area which includes the Academic Assistance Center and Writing Center located in the Library building and the Distance Education department.
The Circulation and Instruction Librarian will be part of a team that offers library support to students, faculty, staff and community.
