Geographers,
It’s that time again for the regional TNGIC meeting. This year’s meeting will be held near Chattanooga and, as usual, is free to attend. For those unfamiliar with TNGIC, this
is our state’s professional GIS group. If you are pursuing the GIS/remote sensing concentration or want to learn more about it, this is an excellent opportunity.
Specific reasons why you should go:
- It’s free and local!
- Did you work on a research project this summer involving GIS, remote sensing, lidar scanning, or some other geospatial technology?
They are looking for presenters and this is a great audience that wants to learn about what you’ve been doing.
- Potential employers from federal, state, local government, non-profits, and the private sector will be there. Don’t underestimate
these opportunities to build your professional network and highlight your skills.
- Attend presentations from both the members and vendors to learn about what others are doing and what new software and hardware
is coming up.
- Meet faculty, staff, and students from other universities.
