Summary: The Research Librarian is responsible for planning and integration of library information services that support the strategic objectives of the National Resource Center for Victim Research and Evaluation (NRC-VRC). The Research Librarian also assumes an active role in the operation and maintenance of the innovative digital library
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Education and/or Experience
An ALA-accredited Master’s degree in Library/Information Science (MA/MLS/MLIS/MIS) or non-U.S. equivalent is required; a subject degree in a discipline in the social or health sciences is preferred. Minimum of three years’ post-Masters experience in Library services or a related field that involves the collection of reference materials assistance to users.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have excellent computer usage skills, including familiarity with the use of bibliographic databases and the internet. The individual should also know and easily generate work products in MS office suite.

NCVC is an Equal Opportunity employer. Candidates must be a citizen or lawful resident of the U.S. Although some remote scheduling may be possible, the successful candidate must live in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Compensation
This is a full-time position. Salary is competitive for this region and nationally. Benefits include health insurance coverage, regularly scheduled holidays, and 20 vacation days per year. The initial contract period runs through December 2018 and is renewable annually thereafter.
