The NASA DEVELOP National Program is part of NASA’s Applied Sciences Program. We host 10-week programs during the summer, fall, and spring. Participants work on a team and with experienced
science advisors to address an environmental problem by utilizing NASA and NOAA satellite data.

Asheville, NC Program Location
The program location in downtown Asheville, NC is housed within NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI). DEVELOP project teams working at NCEI get the unique opportunity
of having both NASA and NOAA scientists as professional mentors. NCEI participants also benefit from working directly with the world’s largest climate and weather data archive and some of NOAA’s leading climate scientists in the heart of Asheville – aka “Climate
City.”
