The Office of Media and Internal Relations is making updates to the Experts Guide over the summer. We'd appreciate it if you took a few minutes to review the profiles of the faculty and staff members in your departments
and units for inaccuracies, mistakes, or other needed changes, and send notes to
[log in to unmask] on what you'd like changed. Please also look at your category with a focus on identifying faculty members who have left the university
or new faculty members that would be good to include.
One of our priorities is updating outdated photos, so if you have a more current profile photograph for someone, please send it our way. Updated head shots are welcome, but we would also love to have recent portrait-style
photos that show our experts working in the field or with a background that is not a photo backdrop. If any of your experts are in need of a new head shot, please call Brooke Oftedahl at 974-2225 or email her at
[log in to unmask] to schedule an appointment with our video and photo department.
Some of you may have already received a message from your contact in Media Relations requesting these materials, so passing this information along to those folks is fine, too.
The guide is a public-facing tool for our media contacts to find sources to interview about topical issues, trends, and evolving international and national stories. Media relations staff also use the guide to
pitch story ideas that highlight UT’s expertise.
Our most common requests are for same-day in-studio appearances and phone interviews. Our go-to experts respond quickly with their availability and work to accommodate reporters' deadlines. Please confirm with
your experts that they are willing to speak to the media when being listed on our Experts Guide.
