I’m writing to you from Rocky Vista University’s FRA Memorial Library in the hopes that you will help me spread the word about a position that may be of interest to your library science community.  Could you please share this message with students or alums of your library science program?

Rocky Vista University is an osteopathic medical school based in Parker, Colorado.  In July, we will be opening up our second site in Ivins, Utah.  This brand new location will welcome about 125 new student physicians.  Construction should be finished soon--you can check it out on the live webcam.

I am looking for someone to fill the vacancy of Reference Coordinator.  This will be a great opportunity for a new LIS grad, as the position will combine reference services, access services, and library instruction, plus the experience of opening up a brand new library branch.  Those interested can see the full job description on the RVU Jobs site.  I would encourage them to apply soon.  I can also help answer questions about the position.

For those that aren’t familiar with the area, Ivins is just next door to Saint George, a city located in the far southwest corner of Utah.  This convenient location makes it really easy to swing down to Vegas for a show (2 hrs away) or Zion National Park for a hike (45 minutes).  It’s beautiful!
