 Position: Media Specialist/Librarian

Education, Certification and Related Work Experience: 

· Certification – Librarian Certification K-12. 

· Qualities of a Desired Candidate Include: 

o Montgomery Ridge representative on Maryville City Library Committee 

o Design of 4-7th program and curriculum for Library classes (rotated on encore schedule) with a focus on Research Standards from the 4-7 ELA Curriculum. 

o Work collaboratively with library staff to create a technology-infused media center 

o Program Development including resource acquisition, procedures and processes 

o Resource development, including grants, partnerships, and other funding sources as needed 

o Development of library collections and organization 

o Communication and collaboration on assigned Intermediate School Team 

o Facilitation of and support for School Wide Literacy Program and Initiatives (One Book Blitz) 

o Facilitation and support for academic teaching staff with resources and technology

The interview process will be conducted by a team of administrators and teachers. The interview will include a presentation designed to allow candidates the opportunity to demonstrate ability within the areas of instruction, LMS/LIS content knowledge, Media Center Management and Resource Acquisition. In addition, applicants will be asked to role-play based on a real-life scenario. Finally, the candidate will discuss any additional questions pertinent to the position with the interview committee
