Hello all,

This email is to give you a few updates and information on our NC1186 meeting in Raleigh, NC.  There are three things that I want to share with you in order to help you prepare for the meeting.

First, I’ve attached a blank station report form.  Please fill that out and plan to submit it to me either before or at the meeting.  Feel free to email me if you have any questions.

Second, be prepared to give a brief oral presentation about your research program and water-related issues happening in your state (plan about 5 minutes).  For those of you that are new to our group, we will go around the room and allow each representative to give their report.  This is a very casual process.  There are no slides, no formal presentation, just an informal report on anything that you have done over the past year, or anything you think the group would be interested in hearing regarding your research or state issues.

Third, I’ve attached a revised agenda.  You will notice that we have a guest speaker, Robin Smith from Robin Smith Law Office PLLC.  Robin writes the “Smith Blog” about environmental issues in NC http://www.smithenvironment.com/ , and has held positions at NCDENR and other high ranking water policy positions in the state.  This will be a great opportunity to learn about environmental issues and legislation that will impact water and agriculture in NC and the entire country.  Please check out the blog, and come prepared with questions and discussion for Robin.  And give a high-five to Anthony for landing such an outstanding speaker!

Feel free to email Anthony or I if you have any questions or concerns about the meeting.

See you in a few weeks!
