I cant believe its that time of year again. Another semester has almost ended, and it is once again time for our student group leadership to change hands.
I want to thank each and every one of you who held an officer position for the 2016-2017 academic year under the leadership of Brandon Pendergrass. We had our largest increase in membership ever!! Our group was also awarded a $4700.00 grant from Home Depot to purchase items for the Veterans Center. Some of the items included furniture, a microwave, refrigerator, Keurig Coffee maker, supply of K pods, popcorn popper, SMART TV and a DVD player.
Our student group officers, along with our VA office and our UT Foundation office, were also involved in many recent fundraising efforts. One of those most recent efforts included a $10,000.00 donation from the Journey Home Project. This money was given to the Veterans Resource Center this week to purchase new computer equipment for student veterans. Our new Veterans Resource Center, located on the ground floor of John C. Hodges Library, will be opening soon. Thank you for all your efforts. Below are the results of the election and officer positions are listed for 2017-2018. I have no doubt the student group will have excellent leadership again this year.
