Job Opening: Cataloger 

 

The Arthur D. Jenkins Library (ADJL) at the GWU/Textile Museum in Washington, DC, seeks a temporary, part-time cataloger to work on a grant-funded project to improve access to the library’s holdings by improving and making accessible its bibliographic and holding records. ADJL fosters and facilitates the creation of textile arts knowledge by collecting and making accessible resources on the cultural, social, political, technical and economic importance of textiles in human history. The cataloger will be responsible for cataloging print and visual resources and for working closely with the librarian to ensure smooth migration of the library catalog, Textile Muse, to a new integrated library system.

 

Candidates must have an ALA-accredited master’s degree in library and information science or equivalent education and experience (subject expertise combined with library experience). Experience in an art library environment  is preferred.
