CAREER DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES:

(NEW) FARM FOUNDATION CULTIVATOR PROGRAM

Applications are due by close of business this Friday, April 7, for the Farm Foundation Round Table Cultivator program. This is a unique opportunity for your current students of agriculture to showcase their knowledge and potential with members of the highly-respected Farm Foundation Round Table. Students selected for the Cultivator program will receive an award to cover all programs fees, as well as room and board to attend the June 7-9, 2017, Round Table meeting in Charlottesville, VA. The nominating university or college will be responsible for the student's travel expenses.  Each student is assigned a Round Table member who will serve as their host during the meeting, making introductions and makings sure the student is fully involved in the meeting activities. Each student is asked to present a poster, highlighting their area of study. The meeting is an opportunity for Round Table members to interact with tomorrow's industry leaders, and for students to make contacts with Round Table members--some of whom might be potential employers.  Up to six upper class or graduate-level students from an accredited North American college or university will be selected from a competitive pool of applicants. Selection is made by the Round Table Scholarship Committee. To date 48 students from 16 universities have participated in eight classes of Cultivators. A program of Farm Foundation, NFP, the Round Table is an invitational group of 150 food and agricultural leaders who meet twice a year to discuss issues of importance to agribusiness, the food system and rural communities. The sessions are intended to provide ideas and perspectives that participants may use in their own business activities. The program topic for the Charlottesville meeting: Farming and Food Production over the Next Two Decades. The Round Table meeting officially begins on Wednesday, June 7, with a day of tours and an opening reception. Program sessions will be all day Thursday, June 8, and on the morning of Friday, June 9.  Applications are due by close of business April 7, 2017. Winners will be notified by April 21, 2017. If a student is selected but is unable to attend the Round Table for any reason, the Round Table Scholarship Committee will select another student from the pool of applicants for that meeting.  For more information, please click HERE or contact (below):
