Geosciences & Maps Librarian:

University of Nevada, Reno Libraries seeks a Geosciences & Maps Librarian for the DeLaMare Library. The successful candidate for this position will be forward thinking and enthusiastic about the changing nature of librarianship and have a passion for leveraging technology to expand and improve access to the Library's materials. Liaison responsibilities are a significant part of the position: building relationships and participating in collaborative projects into and across STEAM disciplines.

The position manages the Mary B. Ansari Map Library, working to improve access to the collection, taking the lead in furthering the development and integration of the printed map collections with those of the W. M. Keck Earth Sciences and Nevada in Maps websites, and promoting the use of maps and geospatial data in teaching and research. The position also serves as team leader for related digital projects, including map scanning projects.

Required Qualifications:
*ALA-accredited Master's degree in Library/Information Science or international equivalent
*Minimum two years of professional experience in an academic science or engineering library setting

*In-depth knowledge of research tools in the sciences
*Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging technologies as they contribute to meeting the needs of faculty and students



Desirable Qualifications:
*Experience working with maps and geospatial data and software
*Undergraduate or graduate degree in sciences or engineering

University of Nevada, Reno Libraries seeks a Geosciences Librarian for the DeLaMare Library. The successful candidate for this position will be forward thinking and enthusiastic about the changing nature of librarianship and have a passion for leveraging technology to expand and improve access to the Library's materials. This faculty position serves as liaison to the mining and earth sciences disciplines, bridging into the STEM and Art disciplines (STEAM), and shares responsibility for all aspects of Library services and operations, including "always-on" and just-in-time reference. Liaison responsibilities are a significant part of the position: building relationships and participating in collaborative projects across STEAM disciplines.

The position manages the Mary B.
