Youth Services Manager – Martinsburg – Berkeley County (WV) Public Library 

The Martinsburg-Berkeley County Public Library System is seeking 

a Youth Services Manager for the children’s department of the central library in Martinsburg, WV. Duties include program planning and implementation, collection development, reference and circulation, staff supervision, and community outreach. 

Full-time with benefits. Salary Range $35,000-$45,000.

Education and Experience 

Required: Bachelor’s Degree 

Preferred: 

· Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science 

· Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in education or related field 

· Experience working as a Children’s Librarian 

· Experience with STEM education and/or creating a STEM lab 

· Two years supervisory experience 

 

Essential Functions 

· Plan, present, and oversee age appropriate programming 

· Create a STEM lab and teach STEM programs 

· Coordinate system-wide summer reading program with three branch libraries 

· Work with library staff to write grant proposals for children’s programs and materials 

· Supervise, schedule, and evaluate children’s department staff 

· Perform reference and general circulation duties as needed 

· Responsible for collection development in coordination with the Director and with input from department staff 

· Assist Director in preparing long range goals for the department 

· Represent the library in the community and at professional organizations 

· Other duties as assigned
