Dear undergrad geography majors/minors/friends and others,
As the attached flyer announces, we have opportunities for a few undergraduates to work in our Laboratory of Paleoenvironmental Research this summer, as students enrolled in Geography 494: Undergraduate Research Experience. Your experience, which has flexible
hours, will involve assisting with projects in which we are using evidence in lake-sediment cores to understand past climate, fires, and human impacts on the landscape. You don't have to already know about this kind of work -- you will learn by doing!
Work in our lab done for course credit quite often leads to paid positions and internships, opportunity for travel for field work, and senior honors theses.
Getting hand-on research experience as an undergraduate also looks great on job applications and on applications to graduate school!
Email me if you want more information, and to sign up!
Sincerely,
Sally Horn
