Dear Students in Geography (cc Faculty so you know this is happening) --
See below for information on a non-academic career panel that may be of interest, to which you are cordially invited by the graduate student group in Ecology. I know that some of you will be at the AAG meeting on April 8, but others won't be traveling to
that meeting and you might boost your career potential by attending this Saturday event!
Sincerely,
Sally
Hi all,
GREBE (Graduate Students in Ecology, Behavior and Evolution) is pleased to announce a partnership with FOSEP (the Forum on Science Ethics and Policy) to bring you Beyond Academia: Environmental Edition. This event will consist of Q&A sessions with panelists and networking sessions. We have a variety of panelists from government agencies (including the US Forest Service, National Park Service, and Center for Disease Control), non-governmental organizations, National Labs, science policy organizations, science communicators, the Knoxville Zoo, and more! The purpose of this event is to learn about careers for individuals pursuing graduate degrees in environmental and related sciences beyond the traditional academic route. Undergraduate students, graduate students, and post-docs welcome! We are attaching a flyer, please feel free to share!
The event will take place on April 8 from 10am-3pm in the Panhellenic Building on UT's campus. We will have a morning and afternoon session with lunch in-between. The panelists will be different in the morning and afternoon, so we suggest you attend both sessions.
Please fill out this form to reserve your spot.
****Please note, we can only provide lunch for the first 50 people who respond. So sign up now!****
Best,
GREBE officers
