All,

Thank you to those of you who will be able to join me next Tuesday evening at STEM Night at Hardin Valley Elementary. We have enough volunteers to make the event happen. If any of you have ideas or materials for hands on projects appropriate for elementary students please let me know. We’ll be taking the sandbox, some tree rings and associated activities, and we’ve got a biologist/spelunker brining some equipment and specimens.

I’ll send the details on exactly where to meet as soon as I have them.

In case I haven’t mentioned it this week, ya’ll are awesome and I’m so thankful to be part of such a great community.

Subject: STEM Night at Hardin Valley Elementary

Geographers and the Geospatially Inclined,

I was talking with a teacher from Hardin Valley Elementary today about their upcoming STEM night next Tuesday (April 4). Apparently a different UT department was scheduled to set up some hands on activities but dropped out at the last minute. We are under no obligation to participate and many of you will be at the AAG in Boston, but if not, please drop me an email (no need to reply all) and I’ll see if we can help salvage UT’s reputation while promoting geography.

Thanks,
