Hello Geographers,

Next week undergrads are invited to an informal meeting with Dr. Kendra McLauchlan of Kansas State University! Her research is in geochemistry and proxy indicators in sediment cores. The meeting will be on Thursday, February 23 at 11:00am in room 407 of the Burchfiel Geography Building. This will be a good time to ask career-related questions and advice on things like graduate school and preparing for the job market.

Also on Thursday, Dr. McLauchlan will give our Geography colloquium talk from 3:40-5:00 in the Hodges Library Auditorium.  Plenty of room for you and your friends! The title of her presentation is, "Reconstructing Nitrogen Cycling in the Paleorecord to Assess Current Global Changes."

On Friday, February 24, from 12:30-1:30, Dr. McLauchlan will lead an informal, career-related discussion on "Perspectives on a ‘Changing Climate’ toward Women in Environmental Science." This event will be held in 201 Burchfiel , and all interested faculty and students are invited to attend.  TWIG (Tennessee Women in Geography) are arranging some very nice refreshments.
