*Minimum Requirements*

ALA-Accredited Master’s degree in library and information science. Minimum
five years of increasingly responsible, professional, relevant work
experience in an academic library, to include experience in the design,
delivery and assessment of user-centered services. Demonstrated knowledge
and experience with archives and special collections. Previous supervisory
experience, including supervision of library faculty professionals. Strong
leadership skills, including keen analytical and conceptual abilities;
strong interpersonal and public communication skills including ability to
serve as an advocate for Randall Library’s specialized collections.
Experience with human resources (supervision, staff development, mentoring,
etc.). Ability to articulate a vision for specialized collections and
provide leadership to achieve organizational goals. Experience in writing
and managing successful grant proposals.

Minimum of three years archival or special collections’ experience.

*Primary Function of Organizational Unit*

Academic Affairs is the central division for implementing the mission of
the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Through effective academic
policies, practices and programs, it provides leadership for excellence in
teaching, scholarship and creative work as well as service to local,

*Position Description*

The Head of Access Services (HAS) provides leadership and direction in the
provision of Library resources to the La Salle University community. The

·         Explores emerging technologies and leads the Library in

The Indiana University Bloomington Libraries seek a creative and
enthusiastic individual to work with university partners, faculty, and
librarians to envision, develop, and sustain student-centered library
services and programming for graduate and undergraduate students and
faculty. Reporting to the Head of Social Sciences, the Head of the
Education Library will provide leadership for the Indiana University
Bloomington Libraries in the development, delivery, and assessment of
library services as well as pursuing partnerships and opportunities to
create meaningful co-curricular experiences for students on a residential
campus.  This position will provide all necessary library support for and
serve as liaison to all departments in the School of Education.  This will
include but is not limited to the development of new programs, support for
research and publishing, support for teaching, support for grant funding,
and collection development. The Head of the Education Library will join the
Social Sciences department which is comprised of the Head of Social
Sciences, Head of the Business and School of Public and Environmental
Affairs Information Commons, Government Documents Librarian, GIS Librarian,
Business Instruction Librarian, 1 professional staff, 5-6 support staff,
and a team of temporary hourly staff in delivering library Social Sciences
services across the campus.



*RESPONSIBILITIES*

Lead the IU Libraries’ services for the School of Education including
workshops and programming for graduate students and pre-service teachers,
course-integrated information literacy instruction, and support for
research.  The position should be capable of developing library services,
collections, and spaces that support student learning and research
including:

·         Provision of services including supporting the engagement of
campus partners and the delivery of student-focused services in the space.

·         Provide support for and help faculty meet their needs for open
access publishing, data management, bibliographic citation management
tools, and both general and discipline-specific reference service.

   - Develop appropriate web-based resources and for the libraries’ web
   site and university-wide learning management system, specifically Libguides.


   - Actively engage with faculty and instructors as partners in
   programmatic integration of information literacy concepts and skills into
   the undergraduate and graduate curricula.


   - Participate in academic fairs, programs, presentations, or other
   campus activities related to student engagement and support.

·         Design, create, assess, and manage high-quality programs and

experiences.

·         Coordinate collection development for Education. Work closely
with the classroom faculty in these departments to assess the needs of the
academic programs in order to select library resources in varied formats.
