Gay Marie Logsdon, Past President of the East Tennessee Chapter of STC
and a retired editor at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, was in a terrible
automobile accident on October 28, 2016. She was taken to the UT Medical
Center's regional trauma center paralyzed from the neck down. After a stay
at UT, she went to the Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center's spinal cord
and brain injury unit for several months. Having regained some use of her
arms and legs, she is now continuing her therapy at NHC Farragut. She is
very upbeat about her recovery. She has even resumed some of her executive
activities as President of the Oak Ridge Church Women United from her
hospital room. She enjoys friends' visiting her in the evening and can
respond to text messages at 865-368-9853, although she is not yet facile
enough to answer the phone.
