To Geography undergraduate students:

UT will hold a study abroad fair today (Wednesday) from 11 am to 3 pm on the second floor of Hodges Library. I will be at the fair to promote the study abroad program to Oslo and London on The Age of Migration. I have provided more information below and attached a flyer for the course.

Students who take the course will learn how to conduct interviews and participants observation, and participate in small fieldwork projects in Oslo and London. This is a chance to learn first-hand about current migration issues, talking with immigrants, migrant groups, policymakers, and migration scholars.

If you are interested in the study abroad program, please see me at the fair or contact me at [log in to unmask]

I hope to see you at the fair today!

Take a study abroad course in Oslo and London in Summer 2017!

Explore current and historical migration issues in Oslo and London, two global cities that house a large number of immigrants. We will spend extended time in both cities, studying their immigration histories and current migration issues through guided field trips and small field assignments. In Oslo, students will learn about the legacies of the Viking explorations and the more recent migrations of Somalis, Pakistanis, Poles, and Swedes into Oslo. In London, guided tours will explore migrant settlement in three historic neighborhoods, Brixton, Brick Lane, and Kilbury.

The course will be held online June 1-6, 2017, followed by a stay in Oslo and London from June 8 to July 2nd 2017.
