Subject: Undergraduate Internship Opportunities at ORNL

Hello again,

This is the second of two emails regarding research opportunities at ORNL.

Applications are being accepted for student internship opportunities during the summer 2017 term at ORNL. http://science.energy.gov/wdts/suli/.   Applications are due Jan 13, 2017.

These internships are fully supported (very competitive salary) to foster undergraduate participation in research being conducted at ORNL. Included is a housing allowance for students >50 miles from home. Typically, this is provided to augment existing research projects while providing opportunities for collaboration for students, but also their faculty advisors.

Projects within our group include long-term biological monitoring, aquatic ecology, mathematics, impacts of energy development, instream flows, hydrology, statistical and geospatial analysis, climate-change science, conservation, aquatic contaminants and toxicology, urban ecology, energy-water-nexus, and large-scale spatial ecology.

Typically these internships lead to development of research products, including publications.  Additionally, it provides students with valuable experience on their resumes.

If you know of a motivated and skilled undergraduate that would like to participate in this opportunity and if you have ideas for collaboration, please contact me.

Sincerely,

Ryan A. McManamay, Ph.D.
