Description:

NASDA grows and enhances agriculture by forging partnerships and creating consensus to achieve sound policy outcomes between state departments of agriculture, the federal government, and stakeholders.

 

The Coordinator works as a member of a team to support NASDA’s member services through specific operations.  Specifically the incumbent is responsible for tasks including membership information management and interactions, meeting and event registrations and sponsorship program with the organization’s communications strategy, and the maintenance of systems important to tracking financial activities.   The goal of this position is to support the mission of NASDA through able and timely work that is multi-functional and supportive across the membership, meetings and communications programs of NASDA. 

 

Responsibilities:

Execute tasks as directed in support of NASDA’s Member Services, including:

1.      Manage all Sponsorships for NASDA meetings including Annual Meeting, Winter Policy Conference, and Regional Meetings

a.      Maintain and grow NASDA meetings sponsorship outreach list

b.      Set up an invoice system for each meeting.

c.       Invoice meeting sponsors as requested by meeting leads

d.      Manage all follow-up with committed sponsors to make sure their sponsorship entitlements are fulfilled

e.      Track and send sponsorship reports to meeting leads

f.        Follow-up with sponsors of unpaid invoices

2.      Maintain NASDA’s distribution lists

3.      Manage the NASDA Website in coordination with the Director, Communications:

a.      Manage NASDA Member Center user accounts

b.      Maintain NASDA Member photos and bios

c.       Post Items to the website under our cooperative agreement with the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS)

d.      Design and format NASDA News and Member Update

4.      Manage all registrations for NASDA meetings including Annual Meeting, Winter Policy Conference, and Regional Meetings.

a.      Develop event registration websites

b.      Track and send registration reports to meeting leads

c.       Coordinate with the policy team on speaker bios and pictures for meetings

d.      Write and transmit thank you notes for speakers at NASDA meetings

5.      Manage NASDA’s Internship Program

6.      Complete other duties as assigned.

Attributes of a Qualified Applicant:

·         Experience in data management, web-based applications, and reporting using various software programs.

·         Experience with HTML coding, Adobe PowerPoint, Adobe InDesign, and advanced execution of Microsoft Excel tasks preferred.

·         Ability to organize and complete projects and tasks within required deadlines, and multi-task in a rapid – paced, deadline oriented environment. 

·         Must be an effective communicator orally and in writing.

·         Must be energetic, goal-oriented, organized, detail oriented and conduct oneself in a professional manner.

·         Must work as a member of a team and independently.

Education Requirements:

·         A college degree is necessary.  A BA or BS in a disciplines of agriculture, food and (or) natural resources is desirable but not necessary. 

·         An understanding of agriculture and NASDA is a plus. 

Other Job Requirements:

·         Attendance at occasional meetings outside of the office and in the WDC area.

·         Occasional travel.

·         Physical ability to work on a computer at a desk for long periods.

·         Physical ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
