Please share the following links for the vacancy announcements (Merit Promotion and all US Citizens) for the Hatchery Manager at the Neosho National Fish Hatchery in Neosho, Missouri with your FMT counterparts.

This position is being advertised at the GS 12/13 (FPL 13) level and is open from October 3, 2016 (today) through October 17, 2016.

The Incumbent is responsible for the overall management and direction of the Neosho National Fish Hatchery, including supervision of staff, management of the station budget, management of facility operations, and coordination with partners and the public.

Neosho NFH is the oldest currently operating NFH in the federal system and has an extensive outreach and environmental education program supported by a one of a kind visitor center.

Neosho NFH has been instrumental in T&E species recovery supporting pallid sturgeon and Topeka shiner propagation programs.  Neosho NFH also maintains a rainbow trout mitigation program for Lake Taneycomo in SW Missouri.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic leader looking for potential to expanding the programs at Neosho NFH to include work with T&E mussels, Ozark hellbenders, and other aquatic species.

Neosho, Missouri is a vibrant community of nearly 12,000 people and home to Crowder College. Neosho is known as a gateway to the Ozarks, supporting many unique opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.  There are also several major cities within easy driving distance of Neosho in Missouri, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.
