Dear Geography undergraduates,
Please see note below about a 1-credit course offering in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences that can be very useful to geography majors!
And, the instructor, Dr. Larry McKay, specifically invites geography students to participate! This course complements our own Geography 499 course and can be a way to meet students with similar interests.
Sincerely,
Sally Horn
Hi Folks
In Spring 2017, I’ll be offering my 1 credit hour GEOL 490 course on Careers in Geology and Environmental Studies. The course covers the types of geoscience/earth science/environmental/geographic jobs that are available, as well as how to prepare for them. This includes employment forecasts, how to get research or internship experience as an undergrad, job search techniques, resumes, job applications, graduate school applications, interview skills, etc. The course complements what is offered by the UT Career Center and we usually have guest speakers from the center. It is relevant to students from a variety of STEM disciplines and all students are welcome.
Regards,
Larry McKay, Head
UT Earth & Planetary Sciences
