Library Cataloger – Jefferson County Public Library System, TN

The Jefferson County Library Board seeks an enthusiastic and experienced Library Cataloger who is dedicated to public service.  The cataloger would service the system’s four libraries in a county of 52,000+ residents. The cataloger reports directly to the nine member board of trustees and receives daily supervision and direction from the individual library directors.

Duties and Responsibilities…

·         Work at data entry tasks at each library as requested and coordinated by the library directors

·         Coordinate with library directors about cataloging processes and procedures

·         Perform cataloging of materials as directed by the Clinch River Regional Library

·         Download, convert, import, delete, or edit data into the library’s data files.

·         Prepare reports of processed materials.

·         Fully process items as directed by the Clinch River Regional Office and the library director.

·         Order bar code labels as needed.

·         Consult with Auto-Graphics Verso ILS help desk and/or Clinch River Regional Library to resolve problems or questions.

·         Pick up material from Clinch River Regional office as needed.

·         Perform other related duties as required by circumstances or the library directors.

This is a part-time position. Scheduling will average 20 hours per week and not exceed 29 hours.

 

Scheduling will be determined by the needs of each library.

 

Salary range is $11.00 to $12.50 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

 

Qualifications: Previous experience working in a public library is preferred. A high school education is required with typing ability.  Knowledge of automated office equipment and use of current library systems and software is required.
