GI Science and Technology (GIS&T) course, Dr. Kim and I will
offer GEOG 411 in the coming fall semester. Below is a
description:
GEOG 411: Intermediate Geographic Information Science
GEOG 411 is designed to cover the fundamental principles and
concepts of Geographic Information Science (GIScience) and to
provide hands-on experience with selected Geographic Information
Systems (GISystems). Topics will include basic mapping, data
input/output, data models, data quality, spatial analysis, and
research and industry trends. The lecture component of the
course will provide an overview of theories and concepts
associated with GIS. The lab component will provide an
opportunity to apply these concepts to real applications.Â
Overall, this course is designed to increase students’ awareness
of GIS science and technology and its potential capabilities.
