The Pennsylvania State University Libraries seeks applications for the position of Global Partnerships and Outreach Librarian. This new faculty position will work across Penn State to support existing global partnerships and build new ones in a manner that capitalizes on the Libraries strengths as well as its position at the heart of the University. This position represents an opportunity to shape international information services to the campus community. The successful applicant will also be instrumental in helping the Libraries establish priorities for services in support of international programs. This is a non-tenure track, renewable fixed-term faculty position funded for two years from date of hire with a strong possibility of renewal, and reports to the Director of Commonwealth Campus Libraries and Strategic Projects.

Qualifications:
Requires a Master of Library Science degree from an ALA-accredited institution (or equivalent); excellent communication and presentation skills; and demonstrated supervisory skills and networking ability, including successful supervision of culturally diverse employees. An academic background in an inter-disciplinary field encompassing both social and biological sciences and demonstrated support of academic diversity are preferred.

The University Libraries is ranked among the top ten research libraries in North America, according to the Association for Research Libraries investment rankings, and provides services at University Park and 22 other locations throughout Pennsylvania as well as online. We serve approximately 6,300 faculty and 46,000 students at University Park, and more than 95,000 students system-wide. The University Libraries consists of approximately 120 faculty and enjoys extensive technological resources and research support services.

Compensation and Benefits: Salary and rank are dependent upon qualifications. Fringe benefits include liberal vacation, excellent insurance and health care coverage, State or TIAA-CREF retirement options, and educational privileges. In addition, faculty in the University Libraries are afforded funds for professional development travel annually. Faculty may be asked to travel as official representatives of the Libraries to certain events and those trips are reimbursed at full cost within limits established by the University.
