Virginia Tech’s University Libraries seeks creative and enthusiastic applicants for the position 
of Learning Services Librarian. The Libraries aspire to prepare students to work, live, and 
thrive within a global context, and to partner with faculty incorporating a wide array of 
literacies, fluencies, competencies, and pedagogies into their teaching practices. Working 
widely across the library system and the University, this position presents an opportunity to 
be deeply engaged across the teaching and learning enterprise.
 
While the core duties of this position will revolve around designing and implementing 
various types of library instruction, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to 
shape parts of this position based on his or her interests and skills. In particular, the 
successful candidate will work with Learning Services leadership to identify and build 
partnerships with liaison departments that would be an appropriate match for the successful
