User Engagement Librarian General Description The University of North Alabama seeks an energetic, innovative, outgoing, and proactive tenure-track faculty member to focus on user engagement and experience, library marketing, outreach, and assessment. The successful candidate will work individually and collaboratively to help define and champion a quality experience for all users. This position reports to the Dean of Library and Educational Technology Services. Librarians are expected to assume leadership roles within the library and the university. Faculty librarians must demonstrate a commitment to professional effectiveness, engage in an ongoing program of scholarship, and participate in professional service suitable to fulfill tenure and promotion requirements. Essential Job Duties Plan, develop, implement, and coordinate the promotion of library services and resources to the university community via various modes, including but not limited to, marketing, social media, outreach activities, etc. Use data-driven strategies to assess and refine engagement/outreach modes and activities Interact with library user communities to identify priorities and needs Develop innovative assessment and communication strategies and activities to continually raise awareness of library resources, services, facilities, and events Design and implement newsletters and other outreach materials Work with the Dean of Library and Educational Technology Services on library fundraising initiatives. This can include grant proposals, case statements, outreach to the donor community, public presentations, etc. Design surveys, develop focus groups, and deploy new and creative ways to improve and enhance library user experience Service responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, instruction, reference, research consultation, etc. Additional Duties: Engage in professional development, research, and service activities in accordance with departmental and university standards for tenure and promotion Serve as library liaison to assigned academic departments Assist in collection development in assigned areas Serve as a member of library and university committees For full posting and to apply visit: https://jobs.una.edu/postings/4120
