Subject: Re: [Alacupa_members] Dual Career/Partner Hiring Policies

Good morning colleagues!

Does your university have a policy (or practice) regarding hiring what we used to call back in the dinosaur days “trailing spouses”?

That is, if you have landed a prize candidate who has a partner/spouse that needs a job, do you have written guidelines detailing how you will assist that person in finding a job?  (If so, will you share them?)  If not, do you have a general practice that is followed?  What is it -- A search waiver?  Assistance in identifying open jobs for which they’re qualified?  Other options?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Kelley
