He has served as a judge for the Seattle Art Directors Club, the Mead International Annual Report Competition, the Print Casebooks, the Creativity and ANDY awards and the New York Art Directors Club. Bob is a recently retired Professor of Graphic Design at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah Georgia. Mr. Newman will serve as the Graphic Design juror for the School of Art student competition. Monday, Feb. 29 / 6pm * Rm 113 * A+A Scripps Workshop Reel Screening of work conducted by graphic design sophomores working with the motion design team from Scripps Network Thursday, Mar. 3 / 5:30pm * Rm 113 * A+A Stacy Kuznetsov Assistant Professor in the School of Art, Design + Engineering at Arizona State University, Stacy Kuznetsov<http://www.staceyk.org> will talk on her research in DIYbio and how interaction design opens up opportunities for innovation. She received her PhD from the Human Interaction Design program at Carnegie Mellon. Dr. Kuznetsov will be conducting a workshop with the graphic design juniors. Friday, Mar. 4 / 6-9pm * Downtown Gallery * South Gay Street Jonathan Lukens Opening for show by visiting designer Jonathan Lukens<http://infopollen.net> and visiting artist, Alison Berkoy. Lukens' work examines DIY infrastructures, an emerging area of design in which individuals and small groups are building alternative infrastructural systems. His projects reveal the way that our lives are regulated by the design of technical systems. Show runs through March 26. Thurs., Mar. 10 / 6:00pm * McClung Museum Auditorium Palmyre Pierroux Professor Pierroux<http://www.uv.uio.no/iped/english/people/aca/palmyre/> of the University of Oslo, Norway, will discuss trends in the design of digital media for visitor use in museums, and reflect on the implications for encounters with art, design and cultural heritage. Dr. Pierroux is co-director with Professor Sarah Lowe, UT School of Art, on the Museum Interactions Studies Program.
