LAC Group is seeking an experienced healthcare or medical Reference Librarian to provide reference and research assistance for a Federal agency in the Rockville, MD area. The Reference Librarian will support the agency by providing research support acting as a liaison for researchers and the general public to provide access to an extensive digital library of healthcare literature and scientific data. The Librarian will also liaise with vendors and data providers and make recommendations for content and other information resources to be added to the collection. Additionally, the Librarian will support the development of information products such as bibliographies and subject guides and provide hands-on training on using resources.REQUIREMENTS:- MLS from an ALA accredited institution
- At least 1-2 year of experience as a reference librarian
- Experience with Digital or Virtual Library systems including data repositories
- Experience with medical or healthcare librarianship is preferred
- Knowledge of e-resources and library technologies including Integrated Library Systems
- Knowledge of library best practices and procedures including:
- Reference services
- Knowledge Management
- Instruction
- Collection Development and Management
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work well as a team member
- Strong customer service focus
