Dear GRC Members and Others:

A reminder that the registration deadline for the GRC Course on ranaviruses is this Friday, 22 January.  We increased number of participant slots to 35; currently there are 31 registered participants from 5 countries!  Registered participants are about half students and half professionals.  If you are interested in taking this course, please register this week. The course starts 3 February.

Also, a reminder to please renew your GRC membership (http://www.ranavirus.org/store/).  Jesse updated the membership list, and divided it into "current" and "past" members.

Registration for the online continuing education course on ranaviruses that the GRC is organizing is open!!

GRC Members receive a $50 discount. You can sign up to be a GRC member at the same link.

NOTE: The GRC membership year runs from January – December; thus, this email also is a reminder for current members to renew.

 

All proceeds from memberships and the course go toward GRC activities, such as supporting the 2017 International Symposium on Ranaviruses, workshops that the GRC offers, and website maintenance.  


Please consider joining or renewing your membership; it is only $30 USD for professionals and $15 USD for students. If you do not have a credit card and want to become a GRC member, please email Amanda Duffus ([log in to unmask]), who is the GRC’s secretary/treasurer, for other payment options.

Subject: New Online Course on Ranaviruses Offered

NEW ONLINE COURSE ON RANAVIRUSES OFFERED!!

3 February – 20 April 2016

 

We are pleased to announce that the Global Ranavirus Consortium (GRC) will be offering an online continuing education (CE) / professional development course on ranaviruses. This course is open to ALL professionals and students. Over 20 ranavirus experts from around the globe will contribute to instruction.  The course will meet on Wednesdays (3 February – 20 April 2016) from 9:05 – 12:05 hours (Eastern Time, New York, USA). To facilitate global participation, all lectures will be recorded in real-time (video of presentations and audio by instructors and participants) using free interactive software (Zoom, https://zoom.us/support/download), and recordings made available on an iTunes website.  The course fee is $250 for GRC members and$300 for non-members.  The GRC will use these funds to support future professional development activities.

Registration will be available on the GRC website by December, with a 22 January 2016 deadline for course enrollment.

 

For the participants that want to officially claim CE credit, the GRC will work with you to provide any necessary documentation about the course and its requirements.
