LAC Group is seeking a Senior Records Coordinator/Information Governance to
work on a full-time, permanent role with our client, a top rated
international law firm.   This position is responsible for overseeing and
coordinating the strategic planning and execution of a variety of
information governance and records projects. The Coordinator keeps abreast
of all department operations and provides support to other members of the
team, as well as to offices, and works with senior management to develop
and implement information governance/records policies and procedures.  This
position is located in the firm’s downtown Los Angeles, CA office and may
include some travel both domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities:
Identifies opportunities to enhance the Information Governance program
through a thorough understanding of information management and security
principles;
Develops, documents, and revises information management and security
policies, standards, procedures and processes; ensures they are kept up to
date and are reviewed by appropriate parties; provides training and answers
questions with respect to policies and procedures;
Consults firm personnel on the appropriate locations where data should be
stored; acts as a resource regarding various information governance
questions for staff, attorneys, and other users;
Coordinates firmwide file intake and release procedures; ensures compliance
with policies, and monitors completion of the process. Responds to
questions from practice offices, and provides instruction and training as
needed;
Provides assistance to practice offices, including box archiving and
offsite storage procedures, space management, records retention, preparing
files both physically and within the records database, preparing file
releases, and executing destruction requests;
Works with all levels of Technology staff to understand technical processes
and their relevance to data management and information security;
Assists with assembling documentation and supporting materials for client
security audits and questionnaires; tracks the status and produces reports;
Audits policies and procedures periodically to ensure compliance;
Provides training and mentoring regarding various Information Governance
procedures and functions;
Maintains statistics, tracks the status of projects, and prepares periodic
reports for the Information Governance team;
Completes special projects on various issues as necessary.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree is required and at least four (4) years of information
governance and records experience is desired, preferably at a law firm;
Strong analytical skills needed for comprehending and communicating
information;
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and have the ability
to work in a team environment with a customer service focus.
