Roane State Community College seeks a librarian or librarian-to-be to help manage and publish Open Educational Resources created as part of Roane State’s RxTN grant (http://www.roanestate.edu/?8303-Rx-Tennessee).
RxTN is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor. The position is part-time/temporary (up to 20 hours/week). Grant concludes in September 2016.

Objective:
Hire part-time, temporary librarian (up to 20 hours/ week) to work with RxTN project team, developing OER guidelines, practices and workflows. Review resources created by RxTN grant for OER readiness. Provide metadata and posting objects
to designated repository.
Duties:

Work collaboratively as part of RxTN grant team
·
Develop framework/workflow for publication of material to OER repository
·
Consult with faculty on finding and using Open Educational Resources
·
Help RxTN team evaluate grant-developed materials for readiness to be posted to OER repository
·
Develop and input metadata for materials posted to OER repository
·
Post materials, when ready, to the OER repository
·
Monitor updates regarding Open Educational Resources/Open Education and train appropriate staff as needed
Experience/Skills:
·
Knowledge of copyright, permissions, and appropriate attribution of CC Licensed materials
·
Knowledge of emerging trends in constructivist education, including curation, re-mixing, re-using, etc.
·
Incorporate research strategies in OER environments, including identification, selection, and access issues (including Accessibility issues) related to content
·
Familiarity with metadata concepts and practices
Minimum Qualifications
·
Training, coursework or experience using open educational resources and/or Creative Commons open licensing
·
Ability to manage metadata for objects published to repository
·
Ability to collaborate and contribute actively to a team
·
Ability to help develop and coordinate effective workflows for resource development, review and publication to repository
Preferred Qualifications
·
Training or experience in Instructional Design principles
·
Master of Library Science from an accredited institution
·
Project management experience

Works primarily at Harriman and/or Oak Ridge campus

May require some travel to conduct or receive training
